2011 has been great year for me. I managed to lived my life like how I imagined it. I made more money, worked wit so many talents, and produced more songs. Lets hope 2012 will be more kind to me, and my singing career. Id love to be known more as a singer as opposed to a producer. Lets hope 2012 will be a year full of love and happiness :)

My Holiday Confession

Its been almost 2 years that I left my former group, but im still hearing things I that don’t like. ‘R’ aka Karen still posting status about me, tweeting and mocking me to all my friends. Yes I responded my way, tapi sampai bila I wanna go that low kan? Its best for me to come clean and just speak up my mind

If you must know, yes I hate him. This is my true confession. Everybody knows that. It doesn’t matter how many people hated me bcoz most of the people around me knows what type of person I am. Plus I don’t normally hate people easily. But I hate him so much that if I see him crossing my path, I might beat him to death

Let me tell you why?

Mentality. I just cant stand being around a non-productive people. He is a typical malay with low IQ. Back then in the group, I always had issues with him (and ‘D’). But ‘D’ is being himself, childish, and irresponsible of him. But Karen is a total crap, that’s why D and Karen can get along bcoz Karen manjakan dia sangat. Dahlah pemalas, he sings the way he sings years ago. No improvement. Nak buat group RnB tapi tak dengar RnB. For all you know, he doesn’t even listen to music that much

Lemme correct you guys, for those who don’t know, neither ‘D’ and Karen is the group leader. I was bombarded by a fan accusing how selfish I was to quit the group after all the effort they put. That’s when ur wrong. ‘D’ has never contributed nothing to the group except for his strong vocal and the name INF (which he created). Yes he is a fantastic singer, but it takes more than just singing to build and sustain a group. He doesn’t even know what to talk to the press, or what clothes to bring for our shows or as a matter of fact, iron his own clothes. So that’s D. He is just immatured. What about Karen? 2x5 je. FYI, I was the one who produced all Infinatez track, did the vocal arrangement, to even promoting the tracks, and servicing to radio stations and broadcast. Even ‘D’’s adlib was done by me. It was me who deal with all organizerz. It was me also who brought in a total of RM 48,000 for Infinatez’s appearance at a musical. And what does Karen do? Dia pergi keje, pegi pasar and do nothing. That explains why he doesn’t get a verse for our main tracks. Yang dia dapat nyanyi lagu ‘Sayang Kinabalu’. Why? Sebab aku buat bass

But I understand and try to accommodate as much as possible. Infinatez was the only reason why I stayed doing music. However things changed when each one of them wanted to quit (padahal tak quit pun) with their own reason. Ada yang quit bcoz of girlfriend, tapi yang paling tak boleh blah, Karen wants to quit bcoz he is not happy. I quote ‘Aku dulu nyanyi duit takde pun happy, skang dapat show duit beribu tapi tak happy’. That’s what he stated. Whilst I acknowledge the fact that he is not happy, I do think as an adult we should sit together and resolve things. Problems are meant to be resolved. Dulu lain skang lain. Dulu nyanyi underground, skang ni karier kita bersama. Satu stop, the whole unit is effected. Aku berhenti keje as an IT engineer and I don’t expect someone to say things like that. So it balls back to mentality. And the best part, out of almost 7 years, we never had the chance to sit down together and have a good heart to heart talk. I think that’s essential to make sure the group stay alive.

Then after istiqarah, and discussion with my family member, I quit the group on their birthday. It’s a slap to them. But don’t blame me. I have fought enough for them, which I never receive any thank, and I no longer see any potential working together as a unit in the future with them. However I wish them well

It was all good at the beginning. Me and Karen was able to chit chat, hangout at mamak, play cards and badminton together. For me, work is work, personal is different. Im the type who knows how to segregate between professional life and personal. However it was till I got hit by the stupid controversy that I stole the song SOLO that he acted differently. More stupid I guess

Lets first talk about the controversy. Its plainly stupid. Amylea said I stole the song when everybody knows the composition is by me, the lyrics is by Eenaz Mokhtar and Altimet. Then she changed her statement to saying that I copied her idea. Later, she came out at Melodi with Flava saying that I stole their money. They said that I cant be trusted and ran off wit their money. Look, I have to be honest, yes they paid me a deposit for a song. However don’t blame me if your group member cant proceed with recording session because most of them are studying in campus. If I cant be trusted, I wouldn’t have been so busy producing other artiste this whole year. Labels wont even come to me asking for my song if they really think Im the type who steal song. And it pisses me off knowing the fact that they turned to TV instead of asking me the money directly. Later I found out that a member of FLAVA is dating Amylea. Kantoi J

When I got hit with it, dia plak yang menyebok announce kat FB yang I already quit the group so don’t relate to Infinatez. How do you think I felt that time? First and foremost, don’t talk as if I don’t do shits for the group. I contributed more than him. But I still respect and apologized. Tapi come on la, people know me as ex-Infinatez, so tak perlu untuk melatah. Dulu bila aku quit ko tak announce pun, tapi bila aku kena controversy, ko perli tak sudah2 sampai nak buat press conference menyatakan I was no more part of the group. To me its nonsense. The controversy revolves around me, why should other party get involved. Aku sendiri taknak panjangkan cerita, si Karen memandai nak publisiti murahan and menyelit jugak buat apa? It shows how immatured you are in handling gossips. Plus where are they now? ‘SH’ just quit the group recently. They don’t have any demands, show pun takde, plus they don’t even have any singles after I left. Ye Infinatez group bersahabat, tapi the group was formed not to bersahabat. Its to pursue music. I take my work seriously and take pride of my craft. But whats important is im still in the industry and make a living out of music. Ur still there talking behind my back. Its been a while that i wrote something here. Had a conversation with a dear friend yesterday, that struck me when was my last time I pen down something here. Dah lama sangat kot. So I guess its better for me to just write whatever that crossed my mind.

Owh yeah. How ya'll doin? So how was Ramadhan and Raya. Sorry I didnt even had the time to even wish you guys. Guess, I got some other important priority to attend to. But for me, fasting month was great. I had a complete strike eventhough they were lotsa temptations, yelah knowing my music life and most of the time I was in the studio, lagilah terganggu iman. Dengan rokoknya, makan minum my non - muslim frens. But yeah, Im glad I survived :)

During Ramadhan, I stick to being productive. Bulan puasa memang kurang show unless suddenly I decided to sing lagu - lagu nasyid yang berbentuk kerohanian hehe. So bila kurang show tu most of my time I spend making music. I had a few ongoing projects that kept me busy sampai ramai jugak yang komplen, how anti-social I was. Bukak puasa pun ala kadar, and takdelah macam bukak puasa tahun2 lepas, spend bagai nak gila. Tahun nie, cukup sekadar makan, then sambung kerja di studio. Banyak jugaklah event berbuka puasa bersama press yang terlepas. But owh well, you know me. Im not the type who goes around and tayang muka just to get my face in the local newspapers and TV. Music aint fame for me. Its work. So deal with it. And i was so focused that i didnt realised besok dah raya. Hahaha. So few hours sebelum balik beraya pegi shopping at Jalan TAR. Sempatlah beli kasut samping and few more.

So bila dah kerja kaw-kaw, raya pun kaw-kaw lah. I think i didnt work for almost 2 weeks. Orang lain cuti a few days je kan, maksimum pun seminggu. I heard from my Singaporean mates, diorang lagilah cuti satu hari je. But i whacked 2 weeks. Itupun ader keje, kalau tak Ill probably spend a whole month resting. hehehe. My first day was at my dad's place, followed by my uncle and auntie's house. Banyak jugaklah duit terbang pada anak buah dan all my cousins. FYI, all my cousins are mostly 10 - 20 years younger than me. And i have around 50 cousin. So ya'll do the math berapa banyak duit raya i had to sacrifice. But again, I had fun. Then i went back to JB to visit my grandma. I miss my grandma cooking. She would know what I love and she would spend hours cooking for me. ( I would spend hours eating too). It was in JB that I had a total peace. Far away from all this hectic life. I eat, sleep, watch TV, eat, sleep, visit my family, eat sleep and maybe shit.

The 2 lessons I learned

Salaam. These few weeks have been very busy for me. I was so busy I never thought I could get any busier. But like I said busy is good. Busy keeps you on the ground and works fast. And during these few weeks I learned a few valuable lesson as a musician

A year ago while I was working with Acis with vocal parts, he actually taught me a lesson that I will cherish forever. Being the man that I am, i would try my very best to have colours on the harmony parts rather than unison or a plain octave. I would not stick to the parts that was given to me instead rearranging it to make it sound better. But what I failed to understand was its not about individual talents, but individuals coming together as a unit. It is about giving your best when you re needed and not over doing it. I was asked to stick to the normal lines or octave because the Music Director had asked me too. 'It is not how good you are, it is how good you work with others'.

Same goes to the show I had at Nerofico the other day (Friday to be precised). While performing that night I realised what Acis had told me earlier was right and understand completely what he was saying. Its like im completely in Acis shoes. I had the best musician in their own world. Led By Zailan Razak, Hiran Benton and Wan Gigi, I personally admit that they are one of the best I have ever worked with. They would do improvisations right at the spot and are truly amazing. But what so ironic that night is I think that it was practically the worst show I did. My worst night is when I performed with the best musicians. Why? Because I wasnt feeling their music and everyone was so good that they forgot to stay in one unit. Everyone was trying to have their own moment that they forget the show was all about me. Dont get me wrong im not dissing them neither am I blaming them. They are great musicians. Period. But have you ever heard 'less is more' ?

Secondly, practice practice practice. I remember reading this somewhere but as a musician and a performer our work is to practice. We only have fun during our show. If you re not happy practicing you should consider doing something else. So practice your heart out and have an ample time of rehearsal. When I performed with Joe Flizow, the Music Director asked everyone to go back to the studio at 2am in the morning to tighten things up eventhough we had a long and tiring day of full dress and the actual show was the following day. Alda (MD) knows what he is doing. There is no such thing as reading your chart or just adlib or just feel without practice. That s bullshit. Musicians and bv need to know their cue, chords and even the singer too. There is no such thing as loose and see what happens during the show. You need to establish rules before trying to break em. If there is no rules how on earth you know what and where to break?

Summary: 1) work in one unit 2) practice, practice, practice

SOLO music video

The first time i proposed the idea of the music video, most of the influential people in the industry was against it. Diorang cakap its a waste of money. Even lagu yang meletup pun some of em takde video clip. But i wanted it to be a brand for myself. A music video is not just a short clip, but it serves as your profile too. But they dont understand, some of em has the nerve to say 'ala andi ko buat cincai je sudah'. Janji ader video.

Thats not how i work la. Kalau nak buat, buat all out. Kalau tak jangan buat langsung. There is no such thing as buat halfheartedly. So it took me sometime jugak to decide the director and the storyline. Director memang banyak kat luar, but unless I was the son of Tan Sri Azman or Muhyiddin Yassin, i need to get the right director that doesnt charge me that expensive but yet produce good quality. So i met a few until one day a friend of mine suggested these students from ASWARA. They appear to be humble, and very hardworking, and most important is they work very sincere. So after loads of meeting here and there, we finally shoot the music video.

The process was interesting for me bcoz not only i funded the whole project, i had very less manpower at the same time im acting as the Production Manager. Gilerlah i ve never had experience doing that. But then again i cant afford to hire more people, bcoz the more i hire the more the cost is. So i had to make loads of calls, learn about image, props, and the headache was securing talent. My music video needs loads of talents from young kids to adults. And then, locking down the artiste to preparing the schedule. That was a total chaos for me. But given the chance, id do it again hehehe

And like i say, the production team was very sincere. A normal music video would take the maximum 2 days, but in my case, to get a proper shot, and since this is their first project too, we shot 4 days. Now thats crazy ass production. Sounded like a Grand Brilliance production plak kan. And to make it more interesting, i roped in a few other established name from the industry. Julia Ziegler was the heroin, Dira Abu Zahar helped directing it, Altimet was feature in it and i also had a special appearance by Fahmi 'Apek' our very own football goalkeeper. Talking about marketing kan :)

We also had support from a few organization. TQ to Downtown Coffea and Tea for sponsoring their premis and Polis Diraja Malaysia for their support, the lockup and also a few policeman who offered to be in this glamorous entertainment world hehehehe

To all that was involved in the production, the directors, the cameraman, the lighting man, the extras, the makeup artiste, the hair stylist, and to my family, from the bottom of my heart, i appreciate your presence and help, and thank you from me again.

Now lets wait for the trailer (huh? got trailer meh?)

I'm a 'PRODUCER'

Lama tak menulis, and tetiba rasa nak menulis update terkini on my career. Dimulakan dengan berita yang my album might not be released this year due to promotional purposes. After consulting the management, we have planned to release the full length album insyaALLAH next year. Dont get me wrong, kalau nak kira album memang besok jugak boleh release bukan saja satu, but dua album terus. Lagu - lagu kebanyakan memang dah siap record with the music and other collaborating artiste. Boleh je buat macam other artiste record terus keluar album, but we are aiming bigger. We want the brand of 'Andi Merican' goes parallel with the music. Yes I admit that my last single 'SOLO' was like 10 months back, and we need a proper follow up. Just to update you guys, there will be a follow up. We just finished shooting the music video that has Julia Ziegler, Altimet, Dira Abu Zahar and Fahmi Apek (Malaysia very own goalkeeper). And my upcoming single will be released after raya. So tunggu !!!

So what am I busy with now? Well currently my schedules are tight up with music work and producing in the studio. Alhamdulilah, semenjak 2-3 bulan nie, there are more artiste, manager, record label enquiring about my songs and production. Ader jugak yang dah sangkut. It took me some time to realize that 'producing' is my kinda thing and my direction. Thanks to Abg Roslan Aziz yang dok paksa focus on that, so right now i will be focusing on making good music and producing other artiste. So there goes. Singing comes second. So nanti kalau nak keluar album, keluar je lah but the brand as a producer is already there. Syukur :)

Other than that, me and my partner is now planning for something big. We are looking things from a higher perspective. Pray for me. Kalau jadi, it would be something good for the music industry and talents out there. Amin !!!

Song Development Chart

I saw this written by Roger Wang, the guru in fingerstyling guitar. I guess this is a very basic method on making a song. You cant go wrong if you follow these basic simple rules :)

First, start with the basic idea. Choose any topics you wanna talk about, or come out wit your own melody, or if you re a writer, you may start scratching down your basic lyrics and then humm to your tune

Once the idea is there, work on the music arrangement. Some musicians work on their arrangement together during the brainstorming of the idea of the song. I guess whatever works with you and however you're comfortable with.

Then do a complete demo and take time to review it. Dont rush. Try to get as many people to listen to it and get their honest feedback !!!

If it doesnt feel right, you might wanna go back to square one and fix the problem :)

But if you feel right, and you believe it would work, start practicing, have a few jam session, and then start recording. A good musician would know whats a good record.

lead a good life (spend more time at the gym, i suppose)

Create atleast 20 songs for 20 different clients
Launch my album by third quarter of this year
setup my own record label and publishing house

Boikot radio itu !!!

Pertama sekali saya mengucapkan tahniah kepada radio Era fm kerana telah berjaya merampas takhta sebagai radio no 1 negara, dan tahniah juga kepada mereka yang telah melakukan renovasi terhadap radio mereka...Era, hanya memainkan lagu hit!!!.

Saya memulakan karier didalam bidang muzik secara profesional pada tahun 1997, itu adalah permulaan kepada perkembangan radio swasta di negara kita.Dari situ telah banyak saya melihat perubahan perubahan yang berlaku dalam industri muzik disebabkan faktor radio.Tidak dinafikan radio memainkan peranan yang penting dalam perkembangan muzik tempatan dan mereka juga , pada pandangan saya telah merosakkan industri hiburan muzik secara tak sengaja. Kesombangan dan keangkuhan radio dalam mengejar target pasaran telah menjebakkan karyawan muzik dalam kancah peperangan mereka, mengapa tidak, kerana mereka muzik kita telah diklasifikasikan dengan berbagai kelas, kelas 1, kelas 2, kelas 3.

Apa yang dikesalkan dengan sikap mereka inilah genre muzik kita tidak berkembang, lagu lagu Nasyid, traditional, dangdut rock kapak telah dianak tirikan, padahal genre muzik ini telah membuktikan mereka mendapat perhatian yang tidak kurang sedikit dari masyarakat, lihatlah bagaimana jualan album Amalina, Jualan Album jinbara, Jualan Album kumpulan Kristal , Jualan Album Raihan , sekadar beberapa nama telah mendapat jualan yang tidak sedikit. Sayangnya lagu lagu ini hanya mendapat perhatian hanya di radio radio regional(rtm).Hingga ke era digital download lagu Zakiah dari kumpulan Jinbara telah mendapat jutaan download tetapi tidak mendapat perhatian sewajarnya dari radio swasta.

Sedih sekali melihat perkembangan ini, kadang kadang karyawan muzik yang telah menghabiskan budget yang tidak sedikit,masa yang begitu lama, tetapi lagu mereka dipandang sepi oleh radio swasta dengan pelbagai alasan yang tidak munasabah, kadang kadang amat menjengkelkan alasan alasan yang diberikan.

Saya secara pribadi telah mengadakan pertemuan dengan pihak radio radio swasta ini, tetapi mereka dengan sombongnya hanya mempertahankan pendirian mereka, tanpa mempedulikan perasaan karyawan muzik dan juga syarikat rakaman.

Lihatlah lagu hit di Malaysia, kadang2 satu lagu hit ini bisa berada di carta selama 1 tahun, tidak masuk akal bukan?..kelihatanya kita tidak mempunyai artis2 dan lagu lagu yang berkaliber, maka atas sebab itu satu artist itu hanya dikenali dengan sebuah lagu hit, dan akibatnya apabila mereka mengadakan persembahan secara langsung, peminat peminat hanya boleh menikmati 1 lagu aja dari artis itu, sungguh kesian...kesian..kesian...

Lupakan isu lagu luar, terutama dari seberang, satu waktu dulu, kononnya mereka akan memberi support lagu tempatan, padahal itu adalah helah dan alasan semata mata, buktinya, lihat saja laporan MACP yang menjaga royalti penyiaran lagu di radio dan TV, Aliran royalti itu setiap tahun bertambah alirannya kepada pencipta lagu di luar negeri...

Maka Atas dasar ini kita wajar untuk jalan terbaik agar masalah ini selesai...apa kata rakan rakan sekali?

I ve never felt wanting to blog so much in my life like tonight. This feeling i had right now has left me no option but to write. Its very late at night or perhaps i could say morning, tapi aku masih gagahkan diri juga utk menulis. Somehow rather i need to share it, eventhough at this ungodly hour nobody is awake except me.

I might not have shared you wit guys on the latest showcase I produced. Yes I produced one last week, and apparently i did another one yesterday. I didnt brag so much about it worried that it might be just an ordinary event. Mana taknya, event semalam lebih besar daripada showcase yg pernah aku buat selama ini. It involves some big name such as Sabhi Sadhi, Amirul Jafril and Fatin Syazanna. But unfortunately due to time constraint and my tight schedule producing the earlier event, it leaves me less time to really promote this event. If im not mistaken i only have around 5 days to execute everything. There are however a few press and media covered but still, with such name, complete 4 piece musician, backing vocals, design, studio time, there was too much pressure placed on me in term of the profit and crowd's acceptance.

Let me remind you that not just produce, i was the executive producer as well. Meaning to say niat yang mula-mula hanya ingin membantu para penggiat music utk berkarya, sudah menjadi lebih berat bebannya kerana semua kos ditanggung sendiri oleh aku. I forked out my own money to organise such show including the musicians and BV, the studio rehearsal, the crew and the designers, promotions and printing, and duit upah gaji utk sesiapa yang membantu. Yes im the performing producer. tapi itu belum cukup gila lagi. The most gila part was I did by myself.

It was a one man show. Everything was planned by me. This includes the idea, locking up artiste and scheduling, hooking up with the place, deals, providing musician, promotion from designing (courtesy of Eizani) to hanging the banner, ushering the crowd, monitoring front desk and sales and loads more. I was at the place for soundcheck and until almost half the show, i was still busy organizing it. For those who came, you would notice how menggelabah i was trying to accomodate to the event's need. But it was good at the end of the day. Why?

It was a blast. I truly enjoyed performing last night. After singing all this year, I didnt remember how happy i was being on stage. My performance was top notch (puji diri sendiri, lantak akulah nie blog aku), and the energy that came from the BV and musicians are equally good otherwise perfect. I ve done so many stage performances, but last night was something that will always be remembered. The connection between me and the BV and musicians was unbelievalable. I couldnt express how secure i was singing with them. TQ korang !!!

I had good feedbacks from people who came. Some of them said it was really worth it, that RM 35 is too cheap for that outstanding performance. The musicians played well, tight and blend with the BV. And i can proudly say that there are no BV's like 'HARMONISME'. They got soul. So tq again for those who came. And tq to all the performers/musicians. You guys have been a terrific partner to work with. Looking forward to working with you guys in the future.

And for those who missed, is it early to say, there will be a second time? :)

Aku dan muzik

Dah lama sangat aku tak menulis. Takde rancangan pun nak menulis tapi memandangkan sekarang sudah hampir 8.30 pagi dan aku masih belum tidur, aku gagahkan diri juga. Bukan apa, kalau tidur pun dalam sejam dah kena bangun sebab ader urusan muzik yang perlu diselesaikan. Dan aku memang sentiasa ader masalah tidur, dan bila waktu nak tidur saja, mesti terpikir macam- macam benda kat kepala otak aku. Jadi daripada aku hanya berfikir, might as well i pen down what are the thoughts that are running in my head.

This few months has been a pretty much of a journey for me. I started to realise what i really want out of my life especially music. I discovered new habits of mine that i fail to discover throughout this 5 years. I love singing eversince i couldnt remember but it was 5 years back that i decided that i love RnB and would like to pursue that direction. Baru korang tau betapa lambatnya aku kan. Yes I learn music when i was a kid, and my parents sent me to a music school but it was 5 years back that I made up my mind to really focus on this. And eversince, i ve been singing mostly RnB songs and i ve been studying a loads of RnB stuff. Dan tahun lepas aku decide untuk berhenti kerja sepenuh masa untuk lebih mendalami ilmu muzik. But after producing a couple of live showcase i realised something more than singing. Something fulfilling to my soul.

I love music more than I love singing. I realised that i get more excited when it all comes to music than just a vocalbox. Kalau mak ayah aku pasang American Idol, i would pay more attention to the big band and orchestra rather than just the vocallist. Kalau musician tengah main, aku akan perhatikan diorang. Every single thing about music excites me, even a conversation will take nothing less than 3 hours. Kadang2 aku rasa menyesal kenapa aku tak betul2 belajar muzik di mana-mana institute pengajian. Menyesal belajar IT and buat pening kepala, at the end of the day its still music. Thats how passionate I am towards music.

I appreciate music so much. Sejauh mana aku pergi dan melangkah, aku tetap akan mendengar dan senantiasa belajar benda baru dari orang, walaupun orang tu sendiri sangat baru. Thats how i learn, lebih kepada informal learning. I do it the hard way, sbb tu orang tak boleh datang dekat aku cakap benda crap yang diorang sendiri pun taktau. Benda yang paling penting seperti appresiasi muzik pun tak reti. Inikan pula benda benda lain dalam music seperti music business.

Kadang2 aku malu kenapa artis kita tertutama sekali yang tiada pengetahuan pasal music boleh nak jadi penyanyi, apatah lagi kalau meletup. Pening aku pikir !!! Pastu record label pulak memilih, kalau ader rupa, ader body, boleh jual, apa lagi sign lah padahal bakat tak seberapa. Nak menyanyi belajar vocal dan belajar music. Ini taktau satu apa, ader hati nak jadi penyanyi. Well, bebel aku ni tidak bertujuan untuk menghentam kepada sesiapa. Aku sendiri masih belajar malah jauh dari sempurna. But its just a reminder to myself. Andi, if you wanna do it, learn and grow. This is what i wanna do. MUSIC !!! i cherish and protect it. Its something very dear and has great value in my heart.

It was in Singapore that I had the idea to produce this kinda event. After getting the experience producing a show, I thought to myself to help fellow RnB singers to organize such gig. It is my effort to try and put RnB where it belongs. It may look like just another showcase, but atleast I continue fighting for what I believe in, and I tried.

Salaam,
Agak lama jugak tak update blog ye. Yelah everybody was so busy, and raya was the busiest of em all. I had to squeez tons of work and then spend time wit my family. Tahun nie alhamdulilah instead of raya di JB, saya beraya di KL. I brought the whole family including my aunts to celebrate eid together. After the show I had in Singapore, i forced them to come back to KL wit me. And apart from that, I gained loads of weight if you havent noticed :D

Other than that, life is just the same revolving around work. Apart from shows, this couple of months have seen me busy and so caught up promoting my single 'SOLO'. I need to promote my song all by myself bcoz I dont have a real manager who is managing me. All this while these people have just been helping me and not really stepped into the role of a manager. Makanya, I had to do the part of 'turun padang' and have all this PR lunch and stuff to actually play my song.

Nak buat muzik bukan murah. Sebab itu record label labur ratusan ribu utk satu artis. Its not just about production and making the music. But they need to invest the same amount for the promotion as they invested on the music production itself. Every single thing counts from image to merchandize for branding purposes. Tak guna buat album bagus bagus tapi produk tak jalan. Point is, music and business relates to one another. And it aint cheap :)

For me, Im not signed to any label yet bcoz all the offer doesnt work towards my favour. But face the fact without them I'm not backed up by a good team and most importantly cash flow. Im planning to take a manager to help me to boost my career but i have to be honest I cant afford one right now. I need to analyze and be more realistic. For the timebeing, the money needs to go to proper music production. There is no point paying for a manager when the music is crap. Therefore, i have been doing all this planning and marketing by myself that takes up a loads of my studio time. I have been to all radio stations you name it. I have had good coverage for radio interviews, TV station and prints too.

Im not complaining, and i shall not quit :)

The last time I was involved wit a big theater production was almost 3 years back. Itupun when i was in Infinatez. So when Hans called me up asking for me to join his team, i said why not? Mula-mula risau jugak sebab takut if I cant really commit since I pun busy dgn my single promo and what not. Tapi come to think of it, im just helping them out with backing vocals, so it wouldnt take much of my time:)

But this time around the experience is way different when I had during P Ramlee The Musical. I worked under Acis and rather than being on stage, I now involved mainly on the vocal and music side. The experienced was overwhelming. And the casts were great too. Jaclyn is so friendly. Kak Vee and me go way back since i was a kid dulu. And during break i would usually hangout kat bilik abg Afdlin and main game bola ngan dia hehehehe

I love what i do. I love vocals and i just wanna do things that makes me happy. But when i watched them being on stage acting, i just missed the moments I had wit my previous group. I think i might wanna go back doing theater after this :)

Saya merujuk kepada kenyataan Amylea Azizan di dalam www.murai.com.my bertarikh 4 Ogos 2010, di mana saya menafikan sama sekali segala tuduhan yang telah dibuat terhadap diri saya.

Saya kesal dengan kenyataan yang dibuat oleh Amylea Azizan yang berunsur fitnah, antara lain, kononnya saya"naik angin", "panas baran", melakukan "cacian dan makian" dan telah memberikannya "warning" atau sebarang bentuk ugutan hingga menyebabkan beliau fobia, adalah exaggeration atau perihal menokok tambah oleh pihak Amylea Azizan. Saya menekankan bahawa tuduhan-tuduhan di dalam kenyataan Amylea Azizan tidak mempunyai asas dan tidak disandangkan kepada bukti-bukti yang benar dan kukuh.

Di sini saya juga jelaskan bahawa cebisan-cebisan SMS yang dipetik oleh beliau telah digunakan "out of context"atau di luar konteks dan oleh itu, tidak memaparkan situasi sebenar. Melalui perilaku tersebut, beliau telah mencampur adukkan perihal peribadi dan professional, yang mana tidak wajar sama sekali. Saya sarankan kepadanya supaya lebih bersikap professional dan bukan mengikut emosi semata-mata.

Mengenai tuduhan penciplakan lagu pula, ingin saya tekankan di sini bahawa lagu Solo saya adalah lagu ciptaan saya bersama-sama Altimet dan Eenaz Luscious, dan bukan hasil ciptaan Amylea Azizan. Jika dibandingkan secara professional dan terperinci, lagu Solo saya tiada persamaan langsung dari segi melodi dan lirik dengan lagu ciptaannya,seperti yang dituduh oleh beliau. Mesej dan jalan cerita kedua-dua lagu juga berbeza sama sekali. Malah, kenyataan Amylea mengenai pelancaran single saya atas tujuan mensabotaj beliau adalah rekaan semata mata. Saya sama sekali tidak pernah mengajurkan sebarang majlis pelancaran dan menganggap ini sebagai satu fitnah. Beliau perlu lebih professional dan terima hakikat bahawa beliau tidak boleh memonopoli sebarang perkataan dan mendakwa mana-mana idea adalah hakmiliknya sahaja.

Saya berharap agar beliau sedar bahawa tuduhan-tuduhan di dalam kenyataan beliau bukan hanya mencemar maruah saya, tetapi juga merupakan fitnah di bawah undang-undang Malaysia.Tabiat sebegini juga tidak lansung memberikan imej yang positif kepada industri seni Negara dan hanya merupakan sensationalism buat sementara waktu. Saya kesal dengan perbuatannya yang memburuk-burukkan saya, walhal saya anggapnya sebagai rakan seperjuangan di dalam industri ini.

Oleh yang sedemikian, saya telah membuat laporan polis bertujuan untuk menjaga hak saya. Dengan ini, saya seru kepada Amylea Azizan supaya berhenti dengan tuduhan-tuduhannya, sebaliknya membaikpulihkan keadaan dengan berbincang dengan saya sebelum perkara ini bertukar menjadi di luar kawalan hingga membabitkan penguatkuasaan undang-undang terhadap dirinya atau mana-mana pihak yang terlibat di dalam menyebarkan kenyataan-kenyataan yang berunsur fitnah ini.

u might be adding me as a friend randomly ( coz i'm not sure why u did so). but it happened to be u're the composer of my favourite song(khabarkan)!

the song gave me this soothing feeling whenever i was down during my study years (oh maybe u shud give credit to sindarela drama series. :P). it made me smile with no significant reason. i guess, the song gives me this hope (dunno how to elaborate on that. i wud say, it's magic! hihi)

Assalamualaikum,
Setelah menyepi sekian lama tanpa sebarang produk, akhirnya single pertama saya yg berjudul 'SOLO' akan siap di print di kilang by this coming Friday. Idea asal adalah utk print beberapa copy sahaja utk kegunaan promosi dan radio DJ, tapi selepas diskusi dgn pihak kilang dan juga faktor harga, pihak pengurusan telah buat keputusan utk printout 1000 keping..

Oleh sebab itu, kami ingin mengambil pre-order awal utk menjual single saya yg berjudul 'SOLO'. Solo adalah sebuah lagu yg berkisar tentang perasaan 'breakfree' dan di dalam lagu tersebut, saya telah berkolaborasi dgn artis hip hop ternama Altimet dan juga penyanyi RnB underground Malaysia. Salam guys,
I must say that i ve been checking you guys out quiet frequently. I know the stress that ya'll are up against and after reading a note from Nita, I think i need to write something so that you guys know there are people who appreciate you guys:)

I was reading Nita's article when suddenly i came across 'if u only judge it becoz we're a old! we're not tht pretty! not all together handsome... then thts fine...we will just stick to wat we believe is the best for all..' I know what and how you guys feel and i can sense it more right not. And one of the reason im writing is because ya'll need a friend who is outside the box and tell you what to do and give you strentgh. Me too i ve been in that situation before during 'Gangstarz' and it was so heartbreaking.

I must agree with you Nita that this is reality TV. You give what they want instead of what you re capable of giving. Same goes to us Infinatez. We had to sell our soul to the viewers, to get the votes, to please the production and all of the member had such a massive amount of pressure. We are not allowed to sing Boyz2Men, instead they gave us a pop track that made us look stupid. Im sure Luscious had the same issue too ...

We gave up and during the semifinal we wanted out so bad. We refused to be in the final, because to me reality TV is as filthy as being in the politics. Yes they kicked us out, and when they realised most of the money, sms and votes came from us, they put us back in the final against the bloody Indonesian. Then again, who else can fight them indo?

But you know what I learned? Right after the final i realised that there were tons of people and supporters who backed us like mad because of the talent. At the end of the day, we performed for those who appreciate us. So now im sharing wit you guys the same thing. Dont worry about the vote, leave that to us. I told boojae bout that too. It doesnt matter if you lose or win. To em fans, you have already won :)

I look at this from an art point of view. Aku tertarik dgn penyampaian Nita yg inginkan lebih cabaran seperti salsa, zapin, kuda kepang. Kita orang seni kita buat ikhlas. I ve learned a loads this couple of months and studied what art is all about. Art is not an expression of who you are. Seni bukan luahan hati. Seni adalah problem solving. You solve your problem tapi buat dgn ikhlas...

Make them remember who FF really is !!! (god be wit you)

A humble request

Assalamualaikum,
Tq for checking out the link and what im about to write. This note is specially written to all the fans that has been supporting Luscious, supporting Nadia Aqilah Bajuri, supporting all the songs that i did for them from Khabarkan to the sad version, to Angan, to Jaguh Perkasa, Diriku Untukmu and till now..

What you guys dont know that by supporting and showing your love to them means that you have also indirectly supporting what i ve always believed in. Let me introduce myself, my name is Andi and for those who dont know, i was part of the group 'Infinatez' which was really close to Luscious during Gangstarz. I personally became really close to them and at one level i have loved them more than i love my own group. Adding up to that, i ve produced and worked closely wit them in and out of the studio over the years and see them grow tremendously.

I remember back then before it all started, no one actually believed in me especially when it comes to composition. But Luscious were there to gave me a chance to help produce them. 'Khabarkan' was very personal to me because it was in my song library for 4 years before i can really select who can actually sing this song the way i imagined it. And the song was my first song that was airplayed on the national radio and TV, even before Infinatez came out. Lets face it, the radio doesnt really believe that the song is a marketable song but when it came out in the series everybody started asking. And i always get this 'proud' feeling everytime they sing my song on stage, far better than being on stage itself. I thank you everytime you guys listen to it and say that its a beautiful song. I appreciate it and i believe its far better than getting a massive airplay without people appreciating my work. There's always a place for good and honest music. And i thank Luscious for giving justice to the song....

Working with Luscious has also been part of my learning process. Everytime i work with them, i found new things for me to adapt and im blessed to be given that chance. If you guys are not familiar with their sound, you guys should checkout more of their songs. 'Angan' is a dope RnB track that was written by Eenaz and Nadia. 'Bintang' is written by Nadia and eventhough its a short interlude, but the concept and idea was brilliant that i too have my own version of Bintang in my next coming album. And the latest track is 'Jaguh Perkasa' that has Mawar Berduri from Ahli Fiqir in it. 'Jaguh Perkasa' shows a different side and angle of Luscious that the mainstream market has yet to notice. And i really hope you guys will continue supporting our music and if you have the chance, please come to their show and checkout their performances. Im sure you guys will be amazed :)

While checking their FB, i realised that i have come such a long way to actually be where i am today. While writing this, im actually celebrating my 27th birthday and after producing a number of songs for Luscious (not to mention other artistes like Infinatez) Im proud to say that im ready to take this journey alone by myself as a solo artistes. I believed that every story should have their ending, or start a new chapter all over again, and this is my starting over. Some of you might not know that i have quit INF, so here i am clearing every speculations but alhamdulillah we remain good friends and i wish them all the best. And right now my mind is focus on completing my own album production which will be released after raya with god's will.

All im asking is for you to support me the way you have supported Luscious and my songs. I will continue making good music but i also need the love from ya'll that has been there for Luscious and Infinatez. I totally understand the obstacle that ill be facing, because people dont know me. All they know is im Infinatez and thats it!!! So thats the reason im writing this so that i can get personal to all of you guys. So that you guys understand that im not that kinda artiste you see in E channel. Im just another guy who loves doing music, and love inspiring people, and when people inspire me, i relate it and put in a song.

Ill keep you guys updated on the progress of my career but im starting all over again and all by myself. The album is mainly produced by me with the help from some friends. cerita lama MRSM

Mungkin ader yg taktau dulu waktu di sekolah menengah aku belajar di MRSM. Sekolah rendah tak payah cakap berapa banyak sekolah yg aku pegi. Waktu sekolah rendah saja 5 buah sekolah dah macam orang nomad jadinya. Sekolah kayu ara di Penang, Sekolah Jln Gurney di Semarak, Sekolah Majidee di Johor, Sekolah Kem Pakit di Kuching dan satu lagi aku tak ingat sekolah apa. Ayah aku dulu adalah seorang tentera jadi kami sekeluarga memang selalu berpindah ikut dia. Dan disebabkan dia adalah seorang tentera jugaklah selepas aku dapat keputusan yg cemerlang, aku dipaksa masuk MRSM Terendak Melaka sambung tingkatan 1....

Utk sesiapa yg taktau MRSM Terendak nie adalah salah satunya sekolah asrama di bawah MARA utk anak kakitangan tentera. Jadi faham2lah, anak tentera semuanya nakal waktu tu. I remember when I was 15, my parents had a massive headache sbb aku memang nakal sangat (tapi cerdik). Dalam setahun dua di situ, I lost count berapa banyak kali aku kena gantung sekolah sebab buat kes. Salah satu kes yg aku involved in membuatkan aku ditendang keluar dari sekolah tetapi sebab PMR aku yg cemerlang, aku dipanggil balik tapi di hantar di MRSM Balik Pulau Penang. Jauh tuuu !

Then bila aku belajar di MRSM Penang, i heard that all of my frens yg nakal2 belaka pun kena hantar ke MRSM ysng memang sangat jauh. Aku rasa memang zaman kecik kecik ni zaman nakal. Tapi nakal macam mana sekalipun, something I'm really proud is akademik kami memang bagus alhamdulillah. Nak nak lagi budak ragbi dan budak bola, semua nakal2 tapi kalau results exam keluar je semua dapat markah bagus bagus :)

Nakal memang nakal, tak cukup kena buang, kena buang lagi, masuk plak St John KL. Aku rasa kalau aku stay lagi lama di St John memang aku kena lagilah. Nakal ya ampun sampaikan last year i met my ex girlfriend's cousin who admitted that i was so freaking devil while i was in the boarding school huhu. Tapi if its one thing i learned during my secondary time in MRSM, adalah brotherhood and friendship. Sampai sekarang, aku tak dapat rasa apa yang aku rasa 14 tahun lepas. Zaman aku gig, zaman aku di UNITEN, zaman aku keje, atau zaman aku buat music, memang tak dapat lawan pengalaman aku di sana. I learned the importance of loyalty towards frens

And after 12 years, haritu we decided to meet up once again. Its wasnt planned pun. Sorang panggil sorang panggil sorang the next thing you know everybody is there. Semua dah berjaya. Ader yg ikut jejak langkah parents jadi pegawai tentera, ader yg engineer, ader buat investment and pakai kereta lawa2, ader bawa steady gf and ader jugak yg dah jadi ustaz. Seronok sangat dapat jumpa kawan2 lama yg dulu makan sepinggan dan tidur sekatil. Memang nampak perubahan dan kematangan semua individu, tapi yg paling aku suka, bila jumpa balik lepas sekian lama, perangai lama jadi balik, and the chemistry is still there :)

My journey takes me in a different path, but I'm grateful to have met such beautiful people in my life !!!

Anugerah Bintang Popular is a dissapointment

Pada kebiasaannya aku akan keluar malam utk melepakkan diri tapi sebab dah selalu sgt melepak so malam semalam i decided to stay in. Semua orang macam beriya2 nak tengok Anugerah Bintang Popular yang pada pendapat aku bukannya prestige pun. Its not an event yang recognize pengkarya atau achievement seseorang tetapi lebih berlandaskan populariti seseorang. Tapi sebab aku dalam keadaan yang sangap so aku layankan aje...

After wasting about 3 hours it finally came to an end and when i logged in to my facebook account my goodness there were tons of people posting about it. Apa yang akan ku tulis nie tidak ader kena mengena dengan orang lain. Aku hanya menulis daripada perspektif kacamata aku sendiri sebagai salah seorang penggiat seni tanahair. Walaupun aku rasa agak lawak jugak scha cakap Melbourne kat USA hehehe

Ill start wit the things I like. The host is a yes. Kakak dua orang tu memang best and ill be honest diorang yang buat aku stay depan tv sampai habis rancangan. Lawak diorang memang kelakar tak ingat. And I like the performers too (tapi bukan semua ye). I personally think that the bands, Bunkface, ATT, Wings, Jac, Black and Faizal Tahir was superb. And I love the performance by Alyah and Dayang. Bila Alyah bukak suara je, she gave this aura to all the singers ' ha this is how you should sound as a singer mangkuk hayun'. Nuff said full stop!!!

Things I dont like? Yeah I'm sure mesti kebarangkalian untuk orang tau apa aku tak suka sangat tinggi. Off course the KRU tribute. Everything about it membuatkan aku macam nak bunuh diri but dont worry I'll spend some time to elaborate one by one. First the fact I dont understand why they covered all KRU's songs. Not that I'm against them (i love KRU when i was a kid), tapi apa kena mengena dengan show pun bukannya KRU won anything. And then lets not go to their singing. This bunch of kiddos were making a fool of themselves. OMG they sounded extremely horrible that while they were singing one of the girls mic stopped functioning. Mungkin implikasi sebab tak sedap sungguh sampai the mic and soundman rejected it at the first place. Look, they were no dynamics in singing, and the pitch was all over the place. Performance wise lagi tak payah cakaplah. Nyanyi semput tak sampai separuh jalan, but whats wit the choreography macam konsert AF plak? Bila diorang joget macam tu, then jalan ke hujung stage aku teringat kisah 4 tahun lepas waktu aku dalam Gangstarz. Commonlah nie bukan konsert AF bang, nie award, kalau ko perform macam tu, baik aku panggil komuniti RnB 18 tiang lebih bagus dari kalian...

Tapi yang paling aku tak boleh blah bila diorang meletakkan barisan pelakon sebaris dengan barisan penyanyi di atas stage. Meletakkan penyanyi yg tak boleh nyanyi pun dah buat aku sakit hati sangat, tapi pelakon di pentas yang sama menyanyi adalah sangat tak logik.IM TOTALLY AGAINST IT!!! Aku tidak kata yang benda itu salah tapi pendapat aku, kenapa letak pelakon walhal kita ader banyak lagi penyanyi yg hebat hebat2 belaka. By doing that, it gave the impression that ya'll are being unfair. We have a loads of struggling talented musicians and singers, but yet the organizer took a bunch of actress who cant sing and takes music just like a hobby? Goddamn, dari hari ke hari aku rasa industri nie makin plastik dan pintu masuk untuk seseorang itu menjadi penyanyi lebih mudah...

I think I should act too what chu think about that? That way i can perform during and award night

Artiste management and shows

While completing my single, I'm currently in d midst of looking for an artiste management. Bagi aku independent artis boleh buat album sendiri dgn keluar poket sendiri je, tapi kalau nak promote you still need to have your marketing team jugak. Unlesslah kalau artis tu adalah Mawi yg baru saja keluar dari any reality TV, itu pun belum tentu dapat show yg bayarannya mahal. Kalau yg reality show kecik-kecik anak ni lagilah, silap silap banyak show charity je huhuhu...

I ve had a couple of meeting for the past 3 weeks and met a lot of representative of an artiste management company. All of them have different method of promotion and takes cut differently. So dalam masa seminggu dua ni I will decide to pick which one. At the same time, after such a long hiatus, I have been taking shows lately. The last one I did was last week at One Utama for a Malaysian Book of Records recycle event. Go green ya'll :)

My next gig will be this Friday 26th March at Laman Budaya Shah Alam. Be there and support local talent, dan akhir sekali dari saya, CINTAI MUZIK MALAYSIA !!!

Volume 1

Dalam masa sebulan dari sekarang, single pertama saya yg berjudul 'VOL 1' akan siap dan akan diedarkan. Kenapa tajuknya 'VOL 1' adalah kerana ini adalah langkah pertama saya sebelum saya melengkapkan album sulung saya. Di dalam single tersebut memuatkan 3 lagu, makanya bila VOL 2 dan VOL 3 keluar nanti saya akan ada hampir 9 buah lagu yg telah siap dirakam. Album sulung saya akan ada lebih banyak bonus track utk kepuasan pendengar. Sebelum nie saya masih aktif dgn music dan banyak berkarya utk artis lain tapi now I think its about time utk saya keluar dgn produk saya sendiri

I can say skang nie vocal dan music production sudah hampir 80% siap. Hujung minggu nie kesemua lagu saya akan diadun dan insyaALLAH dalam minggu depan akan dihantar utk proses mastering. Saya banyak membuat study sendiri dan banyak masa diluang untuk brainstorming agar music yg saya hasilkan mempunyai sound yg fresh dan tidak ada kena mengena dgn Infinatez.

Ramai yg tau saya start of my career with Infinatez. Jadi dalam masa 5 tahun nie saya byk study lagu yg berentak slow jam RnB seperti BoyzIIMen or Innuendo. Jadi bila saya keluar dgn produk saya sendiri, walaupun saya suka rentak tersebut, I need to come out with something else. Sebagai contoh Damien, bila dia keluar dgn singlenya sendiri, beats dgn bunyi memang orang masih boleh relate dgn VE. Tak boleh salahkan Damien jugak sbb kebanyakan lagu VE juga diterbitkan oleh Damien. Tapi dalam kes saya, saya perlu lari dari bunyi Infinatez, dan cuba mencari identiti sendiri.

So this few months i ve been studying more solo acts and how they brand themselves. Antara reference yg saya cuba ikutkan utk VOL 1 adalah Robin Thicke, Neyo, Justin dan Eric Benet. Jadi kalau anda dgr lagu saya nanti, you' ll notice that melody adalah sgt simple. Takde adlib yg terlampau dan penggunaan harmoni yg sgt minima. Dan elemen RnB yg saya cuba tonjolkan adalah lebih kepada music bukan vocal sgt. Saya cuba fusekan RnB dgn irama genre lain seperti Hip Hop, Funk, Blues dan juga Ballad.

I really hope apa yg cuba saya sampaikan dalam music kali nie akan lebih diterima khususnya mass market insyaALLAH. But anyway ll keep you guys updated on the progress of my single.

On the 20th of February haritu berlangsungnya RnB gig. After almost 5 years of hiatus, the organizer mainly Zhariff and Wan decided to bring back the soul to the stage. At first, there were a loads of people who were sceptical about it, especially me i hafta admit. Yelah bukan apa, sebelum ni ramai yg bersuara 'nak buat balik' nak itu nak ini tapi hanya citer kosong je. Tapi these guys made it happened.

The gig was promising. Eventhough we knew there was a management problem during the show tapi semua talent faham what actually happened. But I truly salute Zhariff and Wan. RESPECT dowh !!! Diorang bekerja bagai nak gila and they were also the talent who performed. Bayangkan. Yang penting the message is delivered, which is its not the gig, its not just another gig, its more than that. Its the movement. The comeback of RnB

Haritu jugak sgt seronok sbb dapat jumpa balik kawan2 lama dalam scene. We manage to gather all the people and frens for the love of RnB. As for me personally, its a day where i convey the message that I'm own my own now. It's aint just another performance for me. When everybody is doing their own style, i was doing my own thang, jamming with some piano riff telling everybody that I'm no more with Infinatez...

Budaya dan bahasa kita sbg orang melayu

Kejadian nie berlaku semalam. Aku taktau kenapa tapi aku betul2 rasa nak berkongsi. Waktu tu aku berada di KLCC, and setibanya aku di sana tetiba perut aku memulas macam tak pernah berak setahun so aku bergegas pegi ke toilet diorang. Entah kenapa aku memilih toilet yg RM2 walhal boleh je aku pergi toilet free. Mungkin ader beza kot dari segi service. Tapi tak mungkinlah ader orang tolong basuhkan kan? ye tak?

Sampai kat depan pintu, aku check wallet aku and aku takde duit kecik. Pada waktu tu aku hanya ader sekeping RM1 dan enam keping RM50 note. Masalahnya pulak akak tua (kemungkinan 40-an) tak benarkan aku masuk atas sebab pihak pengurusan tak kasi guna duit besar. What? apa akak nie cakap pun aku taktau? RM50 aku bayar bagi jelah aku masuk, kalau tak amek jelah duit tu aku boleh bayar 25 kali lagi aku pegi toilet. Semua tu dah tak penting sbb kalau dia membebel lama lagi mau je aku berak kat dalam mulut dia

Sebelum masa kritikal, tetiba ader abang yg mendengar perbulaan kami and offer aku duit tu. Dia kasi aku RM2 free, tapi aku menolak dan aku hanya amek RM1 saja. Aku terus bergegas masuk and sedang aku qadak hajat, aku terpikir sejenak apa yg aku belajar dari kejadian tadi. Abang tu sgt prihatinn dgn keadaan aku, manakala kakak tadi terselamat dari perkara yg mungkin memalukan dia sampai dia resign keje

Aku tak sempat jumpa abg tu balik. Bila aku keluar dia dah takde. Untung2 kalau sempat boleh aku belanja dia makan. hehe:)

Oh ye apa beza RM2? Tisu basah yg wangi macam yg selalu kita dapat dekat kedai seafood cina. Cikalak !!!

Innate is owned by Pot of Innuendo and under the wings are Azan Ruffedge, Lah VE, Mode, Zain to name a few. I might even invite Luscious to join as well:)

Publishing company helps protect intellectual property or else known as songs written by the composer and lyricist. Alhamdulillah I signed a 3 year deal with them and I couldnt trust anyone else except abg pot to handle my matters regarding MACP and royalties. Those Who Believe will only do music production for radio and tv purposes

A good step of the year I suppose. So lets make some good music :)

Expanding in Kuching

I took a big step for my business when I decided to go to Kuching to expand. I landed a couple of days back and currently is staying in my friend's auntie's house. The feeling is so overwhelming. Took a flight by myself and now starting to see the prospects and potentials over here. I even contacted some musicians and performers see if they could hook me up with something. And now that I have my own laptop, its really easy to communicate and hopefully Sarawak will treat me good :)

The things that i miss

Life is so simple right now. When I'm pretty much don't have anything else to do, I would turn to music. Everyday when I'm done working I would hit the studio and try to do something productive. I would record my vocals, arrange some of the music, and even remix my songs again and again. So far I've managed to record 4 tracks all together but not in a rush to release it. However, despite keeping my schedule tight, I cant compare the feeling working wit my four of my brothers

I miss Infinatez. I miss singing wit them so bad. They have been part of me for 5 years and was one of the reason I kept on working hard. I miss working with them and I miss the feeling of being on stage together. I finally realised that I have all the rooms to decide what to do now, but working alone is nothing compared to working wit frens. Back then we would brainstorm together just to get a blendfull 20 secs of harmonize. Now I do it all by myself, and eventhough I make loads more progress than before, I lack the fun part which I gained during Infinatez time. INF was more like my 2nd girlfriend

I had a private minum2 session wit 2 frens and one of em happened to be Azan Ruffedge. During the chat we had a loads of good conversation especially bout how to improve our life. There were a few topics that we shared personally and I had asked a few questions to them since they are all almost a decade older than me and one of the question was how to control my anger? How to manage my anger and turn something negative into a positive vibe. I always get a new answer for such questions but this new answer made me feel like sharing to you guys sebagai satu cara utk muhasabah diri

Basically there are 5 suara yang boleh kita dengar dalam diri kita sebelum kita membuat keputusan. Its just the same like music, in order for you to make the music sound good, you need to equalize and mix every instrumentation and vocals accordingly so that it would sound smooth. So same goes to these 5 things im about to share

1. Ayahanda ( suara aqal) - Ayah memainkan peranan di dalam satu keluarga. Ayah nie ketua keluarga dan tindakannya selalu based on rational. Kalau nafsu mula nak buat perangai, suara aqal harus memastikan nafsu terus senyap.

2. Bonda (perasaan) - Fitrah ibu, selalunya suara nie yang lebih emosi dan cepat kecik hati. Selalunya ibu sering kecik hati dengan anak2. Ibu nie juga mempunyai sifat2 pemaaf. Jadi kalau kita sering kecik hati, kuatkan sket suara aqal :)

3. Abglong (fikiran) - Ciri2 along nie kuat bertanya. Dia akan tanya kenapa itu dan kenapa ini? Kalau dia silap tanya, dan bertanya kepada orang yg salah seperti adik bongsu, makanya nafsu akan mengawal dirinya.

4. Angah (hati) - Angah nie merupakan tindakan ataupun perlaksanaan based on suara mana yg lebih kuat. Jaga hati lantas kita akan melakukan perkara2 yg betul dan bukan mengikut nafsu amarah. Untuk menjaga hati, kita harus menjaga pertuturan, penglihatan, fikiran dan pendengaran insyaALLAH hati kita bersih tanpa virus :)

5. Bongsu (nafsu) - Kita juga perlukan nafsu tetapi nafsu harus di EQ cantek agar suara adik bongsu nie tidak melebihi perintah ayahandanya. Jadi setiap kali rasa nak marah, rasa nak makan during ramadhan (hehe), kuatkan sket suara aqal

Dalam erti kata music pula, these 5 things need to be equalised and mixed accordingly. Mana yg harus dikuatkan dan mana yg harus diperlahankan. Aku plak memang lebih senang utk berbicara dalam konteks music. Tapi dalam konteks kekeluargaan yg lebih mendalam, lebih aqal iman menjelma, lebih nafsu syaitan mai dulu....

Basically kalau korang tanya aku what's up wit me now, I would say aku tgh berehat and trying to change my life. I ve been going through the same routines for ages and as much as I enjoy them i would also admit that it comes to the point yg memang meletihkan otak. I had a private discussion with my superior at the office and she mentioned to me to follow my heart. She told me to do what i feel like doing, follow my dream and do the things I'm passionate about...

So now i ve been sleeping at whatever time i want and i wake up when i feel like waking up. Im currently setting up my own business and i realised that aku nie memang tak boleh keje bawah orang. Cukup2lah keje bertahun2 bawah orang now its time for me to move on. I wanna focus more towards my life and how im living it. Antaranya aku nak pegi gym and workout puas2, benda yg memang aku nak buat lama but time was the main restriction.

My personal love is changing. My business is changing. My love life is changing.

And my music too.......................................definitely

Last week was pretty much tight. I started off with an emotionally week and ended with a hell of a busy weekend.

Last minute dateline forced me not to sleep for straight 72 hours. I had to complete one song for upcoming Grand Brilliance movie film that will be released somewhere in November. When they called me up that time, i was soooo stressed because i knew there's no way i could complete such act within 3 days. Adding to that, I had also arranged my scheduled accordingly and i knew it was rather impossible because i already have a busy weekend, thus this project will give me more headache...

Then another project came in. This project was off the hook i had to grab it not just for the achievements but for the whole experience myself.One of the big shot organization called and arranged a meeting wit me. They appointed me to be the music director for a live performance. Eventhough i had such tight schedule, I knew I couldnt let this go as it will give me a diiferent perspective of music and performing arts as a whole

Then I had to submit another song to RTM. They organized a competition nantionwide to come out wit a patriotic song based on a few criteria.Looking at the first prize, I knew i couldnt let it go too. So i recorded the music and manage to complete it on time..

Now i got the answer why does god create 24 hours a day but not 25 ?. Its all about time management...

I just bought another semi-D house. It's a 3 storey house with 6 rooms and 6 bathrooms plus a swimming pool. Hopefully they approve my loan too

Its always been me. Aku yg buat itu aku yg buat ini. Bila semua give up aku jugak yg nak tarik sorang2. Aku jugak yg kecik hati. Aku jugak yg kena stay strong. Aku jugak yg kena bgtau semua orang we doing it for passion. Apa aku takde perasaan ke? Aku kena jaga hati semua orang and biar makan hati sorang2. Sampai bila aku nak kena buat benda nie? Aku takde keje lain ke nak buat.

Commonlah tuhan jadikan masalah supaya ianya diselesaikan. Bukan suruh duduk and termenung dibelenggu masalah. Tuhan suruh kita muhasabah diri sbb yang baik datang darinya yg tak baik tu datang dari kau dan mungkin juga aku. Apa aku takleh rasa give up ke just because i look like im strong. Aku takleh kecik hati dan menangis ke just because i potray myself as being firm. Whats gonna happen kalau aku yg kuat dulunya skang rasa fed up dan quit from doing things...

Malam semalam aku memang betul2 lapar tahap gaban sbb aku tak makan sepanjang hari. Just ratah ayam sket2 je dekat studio tadi. So lepas aku login kat office, terus aku inform kawan sepejabat aku yg aku nak pegi makan kat luar. Cyberjaya apa ader malam2 buta nie. So aku decide pegi mamak yg berhampiran, Hassan Café namanya….

Kat mana aku makan atau pukul berapa aku makan apa itu bukanlah penting sgt utk aku berkongsi tapi alang2 dah menulis so aku citerlah. Sambil aku makan nasi puteh lauk ayam dan ikan yg tak berapa sedap, sambil aku menolak makanan berulamkan air teh O ais, aku perhatikan ader seorang mamat yg lalu depan melintasi meja aku terus duduk kat meja sebelah aku, yg pada waktu itu ader sorang pompuan….

So sambil aku makan aku perhatikan gelagat mereka dua orang nie. Lelaki tersebut aku rasa lebih kurang 30-an berpakaian uniform driver bas lah aku rasa. Wanita tersebut plak mukanya kacukan india melayu mamak mungkin anak mami sebab aku dapat dengar loghat orang penang dia. Umur barangkali 20 an dan berbadan sedap.Yang menarik minat aku utk lebih memerhatikan diorang nie adalah tiba2 wanita tersebut hidangkan kek kecik utk lelaki itu di tengah mamak yg bising, yg mana aku rasa mesti malam tu besday dia. Dan cara wanita tu tgk lelaki tersebut memang aku kompim pompuan nie tgh dilamun cinta. Lelaki tu plak cakap dengan dia lemah lembut, malah tidak sedikit pun menunjukkan gesture segan ataupun malu dia kena potong dan tiup kek kecil di tengah2 kesibukan mamak

Buat aku terfikir seketika. Alangkah indahnya kalau kita berkasih sayang macam pasangan tersebut. Aku taktau apa hubungan mereka. Mungkin pasangan cinta. Mungkin anak dengan bapak. Mungkin jugak adik angkat ngan abg angkat. Kebarangkalian tu memang banyak tapi itu bukan point dia. Apa yg aku nak simpulkan ialah rasa seronok apabila kita menyayangi dan disayangi

The fact that wanita tersebut bawa kek ke mamak adalah sgt sweet. When was the last time we were sweet? Ada diantara kita yg masih malu utk melakukan benda2 sweet nie dengan pasangan kita dan ada yg mengaku there are not a sweet person. Bagi aku itu semua tidak penting sbb bila kita bercinta kita memang secara automatic akan menjadi seorang yg lebih sweet berbanding ketika bujang. Cara mereka berinteraksi diantara satu sama lain membuatkan aku yg memerhatikan diorang plak cukup tenang. Benarlah bila orang cakap kalau bercinta nie memang diorang dalam dunia diorang sendiri..

Its amazing that masa aku makan tu aku belajar byk benda daripada meja sebelah aku. Yang penting seronok dalam bercinta, Keseronokan tu penting dalam suatu pertalian. Kita tanya diri masing2, berapa lama kita dah tak rasa seronok bercinta. Dan seseronok mana pun bercinta, perasaan tu takkan sama dengan perasaan mula mula bercinta. It’s a fact yg ramai dah miss out. No matter how long we’ve been in a relationship, its not just about loving and being loved, its about falling in love everyday…..

Jangan bagi ruang untuk benda2 negatif mengawal hubungan masing2. Kalau boleh cuba halang benda2 seperti iri hati, cemburu, marah, nafsu, penipuan, curang dalam relationship. Cherish every moment with your partner. Cinta nie perlu disemai. Pokok pun kena baja dan disiram selalu. Apatah lagi soal hati :)

Paintball

Mula2 aku skeptical pasal game nie. Ramai dah member2 aku ajak main paintball tapi aku rasa macam tak best plak. So bila kawan2 kat office aku ajak, aku macam tak berapa excited sangat tapi masih tak menolak sbb member. Pastu main plak awal pagi sabtu dekat Kuang, that means aku kena bgn pukul 7, just to reach there on time. Memang satu perkara yg menyiksakan….

Tapi lepas pakai seluar loreng askar, pakai mask dan ader senapang kat tangan, terus layan macam aku betul2 tengah berperang. Bezanya kalau perang betul aku dah lama mati sbb aku memang kena tembak beberapa kali, dan penatnya ya ampun tak payah cakap. Pancit giler macam nak mati...

Aku akan main lagi. Kali nie lagi cun with more tactical strategies

Sime Darby Housing Promotion

Cousin aku call haritu bagitau Sime Darby came out with a good promotion. It is called ‘ Parade Of Home’. The promotion applies to all project under the company regardless of the location. So bila aku free haritu aku drop by dekat one of their gallery in Melawati.

Promotion dia memang best. First, you get to pay installment for your 10% deposit. That means let say the house is RM 200 k, you get to pay the deposit which is 20 k slowly dalam masa setahun beransur- ansur. Owh common that is already a good deal. Orang melayu muda mana yg mampu nak keluarkan sedepuk that amount of money nak nak plak time gawat nie. Lepas tu tak perlu bayar interest sebab the company akan bayar sampai rumah siap. Let say rumah siap 2012 that means tiga tahun tak payah bayar interest. And bila dah siap they will pay an amount of rebate cash. Pretty good deal for me. So korang apa kata pegi usha Sime Darby punya nearest showroom. Sebab the promotion ends this mid of June. Mana tau korang interested kan?

I definitely was interested. That’s why I got myself one service apartment :)

I want more. After all I have achieved so far I still think that its not enough. Apart from earning a pretty good salary at the end of the month, performing on stage, producing artiste in the studio and writing songs, I still think that there are more to life than this. My initial plan was to set up my own cyber café business. But after going thru a loads of discussions, and even after the proposal was completed I planned to backout due to recession, the high risk with big capital. Then suddenly I came across something else….

Property. I’m in love with houses, high-rise, landed and even shophouses. I think by having a property you are having another active income. Its either you own a business, or you become a CEO of an MNC then only you can feel secure of your future. And I opted for investment. And I see by having a property of your own, you can never go wrong as the capital appreciates eventhough recession is kinda bad nowdays

And its my dream to have my own house by this year. Let’s see if I can achieve that :)

Shows, shows and shows

Times are so bad right now. We are working our ass off not just to record but to maintain our amount of shows. The payment for shows usually will be divided to 5 and a small portion of it will go to our production. That’s why we need more shows, and that’s why we are against all of this illegal download. Download legally guys. Don’t be a thief !!!

Anyway, the much anticipated INF showcase was held end of last month at Laundry. The preparation was kinda intensive too. I personally like the aura of the show, not just the performance itself but the whole journey including the preparation as well. Everybody was excited to perform and when the time comes we were all prepared and didn’t think too much. Just go with the flow like how I picture it would be. Souful vocal, keys, stool and mic. That’s it. That night we covered Al Green, Brian Mcknight, BoyzIIMen, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Robin Thicke, Innuendo. We even had a duet with Nadia Luscious…sweet :)

Right after the show, we got back at wee hours, packed our stuff, went to KLIA and head north to Kota Bharu. The flight was less than an hour and we reached Kelantan around 9 am (without sleep but with breakfast huhu). Checked in the hotel, had a few hours nap and in the evening we had to wake up for the soundcheck. Yes, not even after 24 hours of our last show, now we are singing again for TV9 SuaRasa without a proper sleep and rest. Not to mention our vocals were already exhausted due to last night show.

Saturday we got up early to sing again. We have an appearance early in the morning for a talk show but it feels good to appear back on TV. Then slightly later in the evening after lunch, we manage to sleep for awhile before taking a flight back to KL. Ain’t complaining but you guys have no idea how tiring it was for us during this 3 days. And AIM was 3 just hours to go…

Valentines at Bangkok Jazz

On Valentine’s day, when other people are spending times with their loved ones, I prefer watching Luscious performed at Bangkok Jazz. And boy I have to tell you, I’m impressed with them. They had 2 sets all by themselves. They showed some good vocals, tight harmonies and the crowd was crazy because of them. And these are all purely hardwork. I witness them grow as a performer this 2 years and they really believed in practicing. No wonder people can claim them the best Rn’B female trio in Malaysia now…

Its an honour working with them. They are truly a good friend, whom I love being with and at the same time they compromise a lot when it comes to work. They are brilliant and they did justice to my song ‘Khabarkan’. The song is now heavy rotation in most of the radio station, in fact in Indonesia as well. I was even informed that it was played in the airplane during one of the flight. That means the song is now travelling really fast all around the globe. I guess they are really looking forward to more potential business. I waited almost 3 years to search who’s gonna sing the song. And from my heart, I realised that I cant see nobody else singing that song but them…

For ya’ll haters out there, I sincerely hope you listen to their tracks, checkout their video’s at youtube and enjoy the music. The problem with us being Malaysian is when we see 3 young ladies, we assume that they are just another beautiful faces. Don’t be. Blind yourself but listen to their vocal. Get in the mood and hear how they carry those songs. While producing them, I was given the chance and grew to become a better musician. Thus I hope when you listen, grow as a listener and always think positive.

My personal thought on Sunburst

Sunburst tahun lepas kitorang tak perform. We were busy doing our tours and promotions for our singles that the schedules were all clashed up. Diorang mintak kitorang perform but the deal was to split half with Najwa, pretty much because Najwa is in our ‘ Ada Masa’ track. But it doesn’t feel right to take her slots and I had to make the decision of letting go and focus on this year.

So I approached almost everybody that I know off. I met the CEO of Pineapple personally. Came to his office and passed Luscious and Infinatez song. And that was last year. Now this year I met them once again. Contacted almost everybody. When we performed at Sepang we even chat again. Siap jumpa Jennifer Thomson of Recording Industry of Malaysia. I mailed our cd’s to Singapore and Indonesia just to perform in Mosaic and JavaJazz. Called them straight from my mobile. Emailed them. And guess what?

We were not selected for all Sunburst, Mosaic and Javajazz…..sigh

Aku tak paham. First of all aku tak paham kenapa lineup Sunburst macam tu? The moment they announced the performers, almost everbody that I know who bought the ticket wanted to sell it back again. I surveyed everywhere and go online, and I noticed people were frustrated with the line ups. And aku tak salahkan diorang. From my point of view, Sunburst sama je macam gig2 di Lembah Klang. Tiada bezanya dengan Jomheboh yg hanya mempromosikan artis2 terkenal sahaja. Bagi aku, Sunburst ader class dia tersendiri. Its a music festival so diorang kena masukkan segala macam muzik Urban di Malaysia yg boleh diketengahkan di antarabangsa. Sunburst main peranan utk memajukan lagi industri kita. Just because the radios are playing Indie music, doesn’t mean 90% of the lineup should be bands. Mana jazz, Rnb, Hiphop dan sebagainya. Kalau ader pun apalah sgt compared to all the bands yg ratanya orang2 baru…

I wanna make it clear not that Im against the band tapi bagi aku ader lagi genre2 music lain yg patut diberi keutamaan dan pada masa yg sama can attract and relate to more crowd. When I spoke to one of the committee, they said memang tahun nie diorang terima banyak sgt pernyertaan, which is I think fair enough lah. Tapi bila aku baca performers dia, it looks like they are running out of performers to pick.

Naturally 7 performed. Im a big fan of them because Infinatez pun RnB dan acapella jugak. And guess what ader another group did opening for them. Aku rasa sgt ralat sbb tak buat opening utk diorang. Infinatez dah perform in front of 50 000 crowd. We deserve to perform with them. Name me another tight acapella group in KL. We can do one hour of acapella show and people know us and yet orang lain yg aku tak pernah kenal, tak pernah tau their existence yg perform. Its not that Im against them (diorang pun kawan aku jugak), but Im against this stupid and politics when it comes to showbiz

Well aku still datang malam tu lah. Just wanted to experience the event. But honestly Sunburst sucks. Erykah Badu tak dapat datang. Coldplay tak turun. And the lineup sucks…

Aku berkarya dan aku perlukan sokongan drpd semua pihak. Macam mana artis dan penggiat seni Malaysia nak survive kalau organizer dan radio banyak sgt memilih dan tak pandai membezakan good music and garbage?

Dalam pada sibuk bekerja, aku sempat juga meluangkan masa tgk movie2 terbaru. Banyak jugaklah yg aku tengok. Tapi aku rasa aku nak rekomen korang satu citer nie. Tajuk dia adalah Geng pengembaraan yg ader 2 budak kecik yg sangat annoying namanya Upin dan Ipin

For those yg memang lead a hectic life dan sentiasa busy macam aku, I highly recommend this movie for you guys to really unwind. Jalan cerita nie memang best yg membolehkan korang reminisce zaman bebudak korang. Lawak dia plak memang jenis lawak melayu yg kelakar giler. Animation dia memang terbaik dan aku sgt bangga ngan diorang. Malah penataan bunyi diorang pun memang cun bila aku tgk dekat wayang..

The best things is movie nie berkisar mengenai tanah tumpah darah kita Malaysia. Dari cara bercakap, kepada budaya kita yg berbilang bangsa dan kaum, kepada buahan2 tempatan, transportasi awam dan macam macam lagi. Go and watch the movie. Support karya orang kita..macam yg selalu aku cakaplah…

I’m the only ‘Believer' now

Still standing. Eventhough Im alone im still standing. That was what happened recently when 2 of my business partners decided to quit leaving me alone handling the business. At first I was sad. But life has to go on. I still believe. And right now I’m the only believers surviving

I managed to wrapped up a few songs this couple of weeks. The journey was uneasy for me but it was fun. Two of my client’s songs are now mastered and completed. More projects are coming in. I got to close a few deals as well and in fact I’m starting to produce album pretty soon. The meeting will be next week and I’m hoping to cut the deal and do straight up music by then..

I’m also happy that I wrote one song for the school I went previously. A teacher from MRSM Terendak called asking for an anthem song that will be played over and over, and I did all the producing as well. The song is called ‘ Generasi’ and was written by Eenaz from Luscious. Im happy. At least I contribute to my fella juniors in high school :)

Hello friends!!

I am very2 excited to announce that we (Infinatez) will be releasing our new single this very month!! Our new song is a special Sabah release and Sabah V fm will be the first to play it on air. The title of this new song is "Hinonggo" which is the KadazanDusun word for "Where" or "Di Mana". When exactly will it be premiered on Sabah radio you ask? Don't worry, we'll update you very2 soon.

Infinatez's acapella rendition of "Sayang Kinabalu" was our first step to show our appreciation to our family, friends and fans in Sabah. This time we go deeper by singing a new song that is entirely in KadazanDusun language. Now what about that? ^_^ Hinonggo is a ballad soul song. Originally written by our talented friend Reuben Raymond aka Fingerstylo. Music arranged by the brilliant Rafik of Rafikoncept which is the same person who arranged "Ada Masa".

I'm not gonna write a lot about the song itself, but all I can say is we've put a lot of effort in it. Maybe it is safe to say that you never heard a KadazanDusun song like this. Many of you may not understand the lyrics, but we hope you can enjoy it as much as you enjoy listening to Japanese, Filipino, Spanish and Korean songs etc. It may have some Boyz 2 Men sound(quoting Illegal and G from Platinum Studios), and at some point you might think that you're listening to a Japanese or a Filipino song, but at the end of the day, that is Infinatez you're listening to ^_^. The vocals and the harmonies, we hope you'll enjoy it.

Dah lama sgt aku tak bercerita pasal show Infinatez. Bukan saje show, aku pun macam dah kurang nak ada masa menulis sangat. Nak tulis panjang2 pun malas. So I’d rather wrapped things up and buat rumusan aku sendiri

GuaMuzik.com launch – a good show. Best sebab kitorang perform dgn Joe Flizzow. The moment kitorang naik stage je bukak suara bagi sepam harmony, penonton kat depan semua dah tersenyum sambil mengangguk kepala tanda terhibur. Yg tak bestnya, event nie masuk Melody, kenapa suara kitorang ader tapi muka kitorang tak keluar :) politik lagi…

Malaysian Youth Festival – tempat yg sama tapi hari yg berlainan. Apparently festival tu yg terbesar utk remaja so memang ramai yg hadir. Lagi syok sbb kitorang perform ngan member2 jugak. Najwa dan Luscious pun perform. Yg tak syoknya kena bangun pagi, and tempat tu bising, so orang tak dapat nak layan sgt ….

RTM rebranding – nie memang best. Ramai plak yang hadir termasuk orang2 besar RTM malahan performers pun ramai haritue antaranya Luscious dan Estranged yg sempat aku ingat. Ader 2 sebab kenapa aku suka show nie. First kitorang perform paparazzi dgn Altimet. He actually did his own rap for us. Thank you so much bro. Best giler dia rap. 2nd sbb turun stage je terus dapat payment...huhuhu

Hari Wilayah – bunyi macam best, tapi bila kitorang datang tak ramai yg hadir pada hari tu . Stage yg kitorang perform agak terpencil, membuatkan kami terpaksa menyanyi syok sendiri di hadapan kanak kanak riang yg lebih menghargai harmony kami. Dahlah kitorang kena tunggu lama giler, show dok asyik postponed, then habis show hujan lebat. Hai…sampai begitu sekali :(

Annexe – Best best best. Eventhought its not really our show, but we were treated and we actually performed like our own show. Show nie showcase for Imran Ajmain dan dia jemput Infinatez, Atilia dan Shazzy (sexaphonist) sebagai artis undangan. Something about this show yg membuatkan aku rasa sgt senang. Maybe sbb crowd dia yg sgt supportive dan best. Lagipun its an intimate show…ehem ehem….

Momogun – thanks to Alvin, Infinatez skang nie antara artis yg sering dipanggil untuk menjayakan undangan dari Sabahan. Momogun antaranya. Tahun nie saje dah 2 kali kitorang perform utk diorang. Show dekat Armada, food was good, chicks was hot. What more could I say ?

CSR private event – untuk sesiapa yg tak tau CSR adalah pengeluar gula terbesar di Malaysia. So hari tu memang ader ramai performers, in fact bebudak from AF pun ader. Kitorang perform a few songs, siap nyanyi anthem lagu diorang acapella lagi. I personally think we Infinatez gave justice to their anthem song if you know what I mean…

Sepang International Circuit – kitorang perform ngan Luscious hari tu. Soundsystem best. Mic best. Sound engineer best. Stage best. Monitor best. Yg tak bestnya tgh2 nyanyi aku boleh tersilap running bass membuatkan bebudak berhenti acapella. Pergh !! tak pernah terjadi nie…tension makanya…..

The Apartment – disebabkan performance yg tak berapa cun dekat Sepang, aku ngan Alvin boleh terjebak nyanyi waktu Luscious tgh perform dekat Apartment. Sebenarnya bukanlah perform, kitorang sebenarnya tgh syok menonton show diorang when they suddenly called me and Alvin to sing on stage. Apa lagi aku terus bersajak dan Alvin plak terus ad lib macam takde hari esok. Ketagihan kot kita nie bro 

Last 2 weeks me and my brotherhood friends (not related to music) went to Alexis to watch Noryn Aziz performed. I actually tried calling them for an early reservation but unfortunately the booking was full. The last time we went, I had to stand the entire show. So this time around memang tekad nak datang awal to have a place to sit.

Me, Nadia and Eenaz came early for dinner, then later joined by Khairul, Yati, Farid and Ruzana. After much struggle we manage to convince the manager and got ourselves a table. Noryn performed two sets, and had a short interval in between. Well as for me I enjoyed the performance but halfway I got so bored. I dunno whether or not the show was too long, or the table beside us was too drunk and noisy, but I seem not to enjoy the show that night compared to the level of enthusiasm I had before I go. I even remember how thrilled I was when I watched her last year….

Luscious and Alvin has performed in Laundry Bar. Luscious is performing again in Bangkok Jazz this Valentine. Najwa has been performing at this kinda places too. And after we performed in Annexe last 2 months, I guess Infinatez should try and get this kinda crowd as well now. Something worth trying right?

Aku nie senantiasa sibuk. Sepanjang masa ader saje benda nak buat kadang2 aku lupa nilai persahabatan dan keluarga. Kekadang aku kena betul2 plan dan set appointment just utk lepak ngan member2 lama aku. Dan aku plak dah lama tak balik jenguk nenek aku kat JB. So Isnin haritue aku main blah je, amek cuti dua hari utk spend time ngan dia. Kalau nak tunggu bila aku free memang sampai lebamlah. So aku drive balik kampong for the first time.

Aku balik dgn Nadia dan Nadira, so faham2 jelah perjalanan haritue riuh rendah macam nak balik raya plak. Diorang plak balik Batu Pahat nak surprise bapak dia, sebab bapak dia punya birthday hari tue. So aku drop diorang then, lepas jamah makanan sket aku bertolak ke JB ikut jalan dalam. Aiyoo !!! Pening owh.

Tapi I had fun. Im glad I made that decision of coming back home eventhough for 3 days. Dapat jugak rasa borak2 ngan tok aku, dan sempatlah bawak dia dinner dekat Bandar Tua (OldTown Coffee)

Now I’m back to reality, ready to work :)

Chillis and 'Inkheart'

A few days back, me, Nadia and Lynnz when out for a date. Well it wasn’t a date actually, it was just a night full of Chillis and movie…:)

Siang tu I was at Astro servicing and promoting Luscious new single. I met the Music Director for Era, XFM (formerly known as Xfresh), Sinar and THR. Thanks to Lynzz who was actually our tour guide there. Then petang tu I fetched Nadia at Puduraya. She was from JB. She came all the way from Johor just for Chillis and the movie. Can you believe it?

I’ve always wanted to treat this close frens of mine for helping me and my music throughout the years. Sepatutnya Phizy pun join, but last minute he had to take care of her mother. So we proceed only the three of us. Makan punya la nak giler, I wacked until I felt like my tummy was bloated and almost explode. We chill and talked for an hour also before watching ‘Inkheart’.

Well I had fun. Thanks lynnz for the tix ya’. Perhaps we could do it again?

VIMA Awards 2009

I remember writing about ‘Voice Independent Malaysian Awards’ back then. And it happened on Saturday 17th (which is last week) at Titanium club in Damansara

I was kinda excited to be there mainly because I got hooked up to 6 nominations. ‘Ada Masa’ that was published under TWBR, written by Alvin MY and 'Khabarkan' by Luscious that was produced by me was nominated as best pop song. Both group were also nominated as best pop group. DNA(blastoff group) another hiphop acts under my production was also nominated for best HipHop song. And on top of that, I was nominated as best producer for ‘Khabarkan’ too :)

One thing that is very interesting about the award is that they acknowledge the independent artiste/musician. They know how the business runs nowdays, and being independent is like having a total control of your own music. Its about freedom to express and experiment new stuff. They have also announced they gonna organize the first asian independent awards later in the middle of the year. How cool is that?

VIMA was very interesting though. First of all they were no dress code. Spoke to Siva and he said just come and bring yourself. And I even read at the website, they mention ‘whatever you do, do not come with your best outfit’. So me and my boys just came wearing something casual and ordinary, and later met a few over there. And the best part is, everybody knows each other. Its like a gathering where all musicians and artiste regardless of their genre, get together for one spectacular evening. The event was dope, the people were friendly, the MC was hilarious and I totally enjoyed the performances. Kudos to Voice for organizing the events !!!

Alhamdulillah, of all the 6 nomination, I managed to bagged 2 awards though. ‘Ada Masa’ and ‘Khabarkan’ both won the best pop song that night. To me, I’m more than happy to even get myself nominated for that award. Considering that I’m still new in the industry, I thank god that people acknowledge and realize my passion for music :)

Laundry Bar, Luscious, Alvin INF

Khamis 15hb haritu aku pergi tengok Luscious perform dekat Laundry Bar. Diorang perform sekali dengan member aku Alvin INF. Walaupun aku agak tak larat sebab letih dan tak cukup tido beberapa hari, aku tetap gagahkan diri tengok diorang perform. Nak support sket diorang nie, dahlah aku produce semua lagu diorang..:)

Overall the show memang cun. Luscious memang did their homework and really performed. Diganding plak dgn guitarist serba boleh macam Alvin, yg bukan sahaja bermain guitar tetapi pada masa2 tertentu menyumbangkan suara dengan kadar soul yg maksima, membuatkan aku terpana seketika. Diorang nyanyi selama sejam, and aku sebagai penonton memang puas sgt sbb kali nie konsep diorang menyanyi, menyanyi, menyanyi. No hanky panky, ditambah plak dgn adlib yg macam orang kena meroyan, memang perfect sebagai perencah malam tu.

Aku plak dapat merasa lagi satu experience yg bagi aku best. All this while aku menyanyi lagu sendiri dan produce orang. Hari nie aku duduk di bawah menonton member lain yg aku produce nyanyi depan mata aku dengan begitu soul. Perasaan yg paling best malam tu ialah bila diorang nyanyi lagu aku, crowd kat bawah nyanyi sekali mengiringi diorang. Best perasaan tu. Alhamdulillah aku bersyukur

Happy New Year

After so long of taking a break from writing, i decided to write again. Furthermore, how long can i rest from writing at my own page. I know there have been many if not tons of silent readers who now loves to read my blog. And i hope after this they would leave me some comments. hint hint !

Selamat tahun baru guys. I purposedly left my blog for some time to actually rest from everything. I took a break, recharge myself and at the same time figured out what is my next aim for 2009. As for me, 2008 was a good year, but im planning to make 2009 better than good. I bet ya'll have your new year resolution too. So whatever you choose to achieve this year, it better be bigger then last year. Aim higher ! I wanna be a better person, loving partner, good friend and an awesome songwriter for sure :)

Anyway countdown to new year was absolute fun. Me and my brotherhood was at Sunway partying till morning. Crowd was crazy and wild. Too bad now we are back to reality. Gotta work harder, and extra harder. sigh sigh sigh

Happy 2009 ya'll. Semoga tahun ini lebih diberkati dan tuhan membuka segala macam pintu rezeki yang halal untuk kita. Bless us !!!

Aku celebrate christmas eve dekat studio je. Waktu tu aku tengah pack producing this one group for their second single. Memang sebenarnya tak perlu pun sambut perayaan ni, tapi memangdangkan kita ni orang Malaysia dan masyarakat terdiri drpd kaum yg majmuk, selalunya perayaan begini memang disambut dengan meriah tak kira bangsa dan agama. Semua kita bedal!!! Tapi entah macam mana beberapa hari kebelakangan ni dateline aku macam berlambak je, so terpaksalah keje lebih masa. Tak dptlah nak party :(

Kat office aku, semua orang beriya2 nak exchange gift. Aku pun turut serta walaupun sebenarnya macam tak berapa minat. I got myself a massager from my colleague. Now why on earth does anyone think that i need a massager? Tapi gift paling best aku dapat ialah a diary cum organizer for 2009 from my gf. Dia bagi aku yg kelas lagi vogue punya, kecik dan cantek, kalau dipadankan dengan tuan dia nie, memang orang nampak aku musician yang educated. hehe. Tapi the truth is, aku memang sgt perlukan organizer, dan memang aku akan gunakan diary tu setiap hari pada 2009 nanti. Aku pulak belikan dia buku. Aku tau dia memang suka membaca, jadi aku belikan dia 3 buku dalam satu pack, a special edition for Christmas lah nie..:)

Singing made me learn new things. One if it is the ability to travel all around the globe. I heard stories from my more experienced performing friends, that they have travelled and been to a whole loads of places, not including all the ‘dancers’ I use to work with. Some of them have been to more than 40 countries. As for me and my group, we just hope our music will spread and people know how sincere we are when it comes to music. Of course we would love to penetrate different market with different approach, such as Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore and the Phillipines, but me and Alvin has always seen Japan as our benchmark and we would love to go there one day. Even the singers in United States sees Japan as the land of opportunity. Japanese appreciate good arts and in this case it’s in the form of music. In fact, there are a few artiste who actually released their album in Japan first rather than US. I know Boyz II Men did the same too

Aku tak pernah rasa nak menulis pasal ‘dia’ sampailah saat ini. Setiap kali aku berjauhan dengan ‘dia’ aku rasa rindu, kadang2 tu menjadi-jadi sampai aku rindukan dia walaupun dia dalam dakapan aku. Malah saat nie sedang aku menulis pun aku masih rindukan ‘dia

Sedar tak sedar aku dah berkawan dgn ‘dia’ hampir dua tahun, tapi dua tahun yang sangat banyak dugaan. Dugaan yang datang dari pelbagai pihak, dari dia, dari orang ketiga, dari orang sekeliling, yang paling teruk dari aku. Ditambah plak dengan situasi di mana aku dan ’dia’ memang bekerja sekali. Sejak dari Gangstarz, ke pementasan P Ramlee sehinggalah hari nie di mana setiap produksi aku mesti melibatkan dirinya.

Tapi Alhamdulillah, semenjak-dua menjak nie hubungan aku dengan si ’dia’ semakin baik. Mungkin kerana setahun kebelakangan ini kami telah lalui banyak sangat perbalahan, membuatkan kami lebih dewasa dalam menyelesaikan salah faham. Betullah orang cakap pertelingkahan kalau tak memudaratkan memang bagus, sekurang2nya kita mampu belajar dan mengenal hati budi pasangan kita

Toleransi itu penting. Selebihnya, biarlah cerita cinta aku dengan ’dia’ di simpan untuk aku…..dan DIA

Then I came across this article. When I read it I remember how I was robbed when I was playing Counter Strike at a cybercafé many years ago in Hartamas. So now I thought Ampang is not so bad after all.. :)

Those Who Believe Records and Publishing (TWBR) made more progress when our song were selected as one of the theme song of SPA Q (season II). The songs are ‘Ada Masa’ by Infinatez and ‘Khabarkan’ (sad acoustic) ‘Bintang’ by Luscious. The main song would be by Dato’Siti Nurhaliza. I took the responsibility of arranging the scoring for the series with the help of my good buddy Alvin and RafikKonsept. Why is English so important?

Post aku kali nie bukanlah bertujuan untuk mengajar tapi lebih kepada memberi kesedaran serta pendedahan mengenai betapa pentingnya bahasa Inggeris. By saying that it doesn’t mean that Im not up for my own language. Bagi aku Bahasa Melayu masih lagi bahasa yang aku rasa sangat indah, lembut dan cantik. Yes sometimes I speak and talk in English tetapi aku masih lagi mengangkat bahasa melayu sebagai bahasa ibunda aku. Kadang2 aku menulis lagu dalam bahasa Inggeris. Kadang2 dalam bahasa melayu. Kedua2nya hanya bahasa yg mempunyai approach yg berbeza. Bahasa Inggeris lebih simple dan kita boleh menulis secara direct cuma penggunaan tatabahasa dia agak sukar manakala bahasa melayu lebih komplikasi namun jika diolah dengan betul, akan menjadi bahasa yg lebih tersirat. Apapun mesejnya tetap sama. Ianya hanya kaedah utk kita berhubung dan berkomunikasi sesama sendiri

Apa yg aku nak ceritakan hari ini ialah bagaimana perlunya seseorang belajar dan mendalami bahasa Inggeris. Pertama sekali bahasa Inggeris merupakan bahasa yang diterima pakai oleh setiap orang di hampir setiap negara. Its like as if its music where everybody knows and can relate to each other. Dan bila seseorang tu sudah mahir dan fasih berbahasa Inggeris, makanya senang untuk beliau melakukan pelbagai perkara sebagai contoh interview kerja, tulis surat, dealing with clients, apply loan dan macam2 lagi. Seseorang yg mahir bahasa Inggeris secara tidak langsung meletakkan dirinya ke satu tahap dan standard di mana orang akan lebih menghormatinya. In fact, kalau nak tulis surat cinta atau text kat awek pun lebih best kalau type in English ye tak?

Tapi aku agak kesal dengan situasi sekarang. Sepatutnya perkara sebegini perlu bermula dari rumah atas sokongan ibubapa. Barulah bahasa inggeris nie senang untuk ditutur bak kata mat salleh ’fingertips’ je. Bukannya susah pun nak belajar. Baca novel English. Kemudian kalau tengok berita kat TV pastikan tengok berita English. Ataupun dengar lagu English, kalau tak suka Britney Spears atleast pegilah dengar Che'nelle. Jangan sampai nanti dah tua kelak baru nak terkapai2 cakap bahasa Inggeris. Itu yang terjadi dekat beberapa hamba Allah yang saya pernah bekerjasama dulu.

Hamba ALLAH ’S’ (bukan nama sebenar) telah sms kepada saya untuk menyatakan yang dia sangat risau, terkilan bercampur blur yang amat sangat dengan hal peribadinya. Begini smsnya tuan2 dan puan2…

Contoh 2:
Saya telah ke bank C**B berdekatan rumah saya di Taman Melawati di mana saya telah di ‘approach’ oleh seorang pegawai bank untuk join satu program loan bank tersebut. Ayat terakhir pegawai tersebut membuatkan saya sedikit terpana
